Membrane Proteins Expression and Purification
Reported by creativebiomart | April 25th, 2024 @ 09:47 AM
The human genome encodes about 25% of the total proteome of membrane proteins. These membrane proteins are associated with a variety of diseases such as cystic fibrosis, atherosclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease. Thus, membrane proteins are important targets for numerous drug discovery and clinical therapeutic studies. Ion channels, transporter proteins, GPCRs, and kinases are the largest class of drug targets in drug discovery and development, and approximately 40% of approved antibody drugs exert their pharmacological effects by targeting GPCR complexes.
Membrane proteins limit their research progress due to low expression and difficulty in purification.
Creative Biomart has established a comprehensive membrane protein platform that provides enrichment and purification of membrane proteins, including Virus-like particles (VLPs) technology platform, detergent technology platform, Nanodisc technology platform, and liposome technology platform.
